ANDOVER, Mass. and Solothurn, Switzerland – September 21, 2010 – Aras®, the leading enterprise open source Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software solution provider, today announced the development of Android and iPhone mobile applications for the Aras Innovator suite of enterprise PLM solutions. The apps, developed by Aras partner Porchys, mark another first for the PLM industry and demonstrate the power of the open innovation enabled on Aras’s advanced PLM platform.

The apps provide global companies with the ability to extend PLM processes and information to the thousands of mobile users on the go. This first-generation of apps for Android and iPhone smartphones enables users to securely access, manage and edit information in Aras from their mobile device. The apps can be configured and extended to support company-specific processes across a wide variety of industries including high tech electronics, automotive, aerospace, energy, pharmaceutical, healthcare and consumer products such as footwear & apparel and food & beverage.
