Chennai, September 22, 2010: SaiCoreS Pvt Ltd, a fast growing, differentiated Chennai-based HR Staffing and consultancy firm today announced that as part of its long-term social commitment, it has partnered with Don Bosco Anbu Illam, a leading child rights organization to provide certified computer training to street children aged 12-18 years. Through this program, which currently is in its second month running, Don Bosco Anbu Illam would identify the street children while SaiCoreS would take care of the rest. Besides usage of its facility and computers, all the company’s employees will be voluntarily dedicating their time and effort every weekend tutoring the street children on computer fundamentals & Windows OS. There will be regular tests and assignments and an evaluation at the end of the program, based on which the children will be provided with certificates by CSC. The training occurs in two time slots on Sundays with separate classes for boys and girls.
According Fr. Johnson, Director, Don Bosco Anbu Illam, “The population of street children in Chennai is around 1, 00,000 and most of them are school drop-outs. A lot of them express a desire to learn more about computers. With basic computer literacy required for blue collar jobs in the private sector today this kind of training opens up the possibilities. The age group is also right as this can be combined with select vocational training to make them employable.”
In his comments, Manmohan R, CEO, SaiCoreS Pvt. Ltd. said, “When we looked around for a cause to take up as part of our genuine commitment to social citizenship, this came across as one where we can make a meaningful difference.
