PITTSBURGH, PA - September 20, 2010 - DiabeticAlerts.com is a new web service that calls diabetic patients to ensure they are not experiencing a hypoglycemic (or low blood sugar) attack, which occurs when blood glucose levels drop below normal levels. Developed by Forge Ventures, LLC, DiabeticAlerts.com is a subscription-based web service that uses an automated operator to phone subscribers, and requires them to enter a three-digit code. If a subscriber fails to answer the phone, or is unable to enter the code, the DiabeticAlerts.com operator will assume the subscriber is experiencing low blood sugar, and will call the emergency contacts the subscriber listed during registration. Those emergency contacts will be called and informed that the subscriber missed the scheduled check-in and is in need of help.
