Dubai, United Arab Emirates- July 18, 2010 – Blue Coat Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: BCSI), the technology leader in Application Delivery Networking, today introduced Reporter 9.2, the newest version of its powerful reporting tool that provides organizations with real-time visibility into security threats, usage trends, errors and streaming traffic. Blue Coat Reporter compiles and analyzes log data from Blue Coat ProxySG and ProxyAV appliances, WebFilter and ProxyClient to provide administrators a unified view of Web traffic, usage and potential threats.

“As Web threats continue to proliferate, security administrators need tools that can provide visibility into the Web activity on their networks,” said Nigel Hawthorn, VP EMEA Marketing, Blue Coat Systems. “With Reporter, administrators have an invaluable tool that provides detailed information about the Web activity on the network as well information on potential threats and infected users.”

In Reporter 9.2, three new reports extend the ability of security administrators to evaluate risk and quickly identify users with malicious content, including spyware. These reports enhance the existing security analysis that Reporter provides such as reports on malware IDs, IP detail, URL detail and user detail.

The new potential threats dashboard combines intelligence from Blue Coat ProxyAV appliances with intelligence from Blue Coat WebFilter and the WebPulse service to display information about malware or malicious content that has infected users. The trend of potential threats report lets administrators quickly analyze day-to-day changes in the number of requests to sites categorized as malware or malware-related as well as the number of malware payloads blocked by ProxyAV appliances. The risk groups report enables administrators to group similar categories into a single category such as “threat” or “bandwidth usage” to more quickly identify and manage issues.

In addition to enhancing visibility into potential threats, Reporter 9.2 can also report on search keywords from leading search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, Bing, Baidu and others. Reporter also enables security and IT administrators to produce search engine keyword reports by user, group, site or other category.

To empower managers with visibility into the Web activity of their teams, Reporter 9.2 also provides enhanced role-based controls and audit tracking. Additionally, a Web API allows auditors and 3rd party management consoles to export reports in HTTP/XML, PDF and CSV (Microsoft Excel compatible) formats.

Availability and Pricing
Reporter 9.2 is now available for the Standard edition, Enterprise edition and Premium edition. The upgrade is free of charge for customers with existing licenses.
