Ephesoft names Enterprise Software Leader Ajay Patel to Board of Directors

25-year industry veteran bolsters Board with wealth of cloud product development and partner growth experience

Irvine, Calif. – Nov. 14, 2018 – Ephesoft Inc., an industry leader in enterprise content capture and data discovery solutions, today announced that it has appointed enterprise software leader, Ajay Patel, to its Board of Directors. Patel joins the five-member Board, which guides Ephesoft toward its goal of expanding reach in the enterprise capture market by offering its cutting-edge, patented supervised machine learning solutions to customers and partners seeking to incorporate cloud-based solutions into their business processes.

Named one of CRN’s “100 People You Don’t Know But Should 2018”, Patel brings a wealth of enterprise software management experience to Ephesoft’s Board of Directors. Since 2013, Patel has served as Sr. Vice President and General Manager of VMware’s Cloud Provider Software Business Unit, managing the VMware Cloud Provider Program — one of the largest and most active communities for cloud and managed services providers with more than 4,200 partners in over 120 countries. Patel also oversees VMware’s cloud provider product development, go-to-market strategy, sales and strategic cloud partnerships. With Ephesoft, he will offer counsel on similar partner programs, especially as they pertain to cloud-centric products and managed services solutions.

Prior to VMware, Patel served as vice president of Fusion Middleware at Oracle, where he led Oracle’s Cloud Application Foundation. He also spearheaded a number of core products, including Oracle Exalogic and their industry-leading Java EE Application Server, Oracle WebLogic. The business unit saw enormous growth under Patel’s purview, increasing by more than a $1 billion during his tenure. Patel also served as senior vice president of Sonoa Systems (now Apigee) before it was acquired by Google in 2016 in a $625 million deal. Additionally, he has worked in a consulting capacity with such multinational corporations as AT&T and Price Waterhouse Coopers. A graduate of the University of California, Irvine, Patel earned two bachelor of science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
