New Laser Etched Destructible Labels
William Frick Laser Etched UID Label
Libertyville, IL - June 23, 2010. William Frick & Co., a specialty labeling manufacturer for UID applications, unveiled its latest laser etched UID label. Specifically designed for the Department of Defense and other "high value" asset tagging applications, these destructible and yet durable labels can display tracking information in multiple data matrix formats, Mil-Std 130, and code 39/128 barcodes.
"These labels are durable for up to 10 years outdoors, yet they quickly and definitively show any evidence of tampering," said Michael Sheng, Director of Marketing at William Frick. "The OS-0014 Laser Etched Label is approved by the DoD for use as a permanent machine-readable label."
Outdoor assets, where surfaces are frequently exposed to dirt or oil, pose a particular problem for identification as most adhesives will not adhere securely to oil or dirt. Using a special pressure-sensitive adhesive, the Laser Etched Label can be permanently applied to most surfaces without surface preparation, at substantial savings of time and money to users.
In addition for use by Defense contractors, the OS-0014 meets AIAG (Automotive Industry) label requirements and also meets EPA's small engine labeling requirement. The OS-0014 is durable like metal, at a fraction of the cost of a nameplate.
