Syracuse -- The December 14 session of Thursday Morning Roundtable (TMR) will feature MerikeTreier, economic development specialist for the Downtown Committee of Syracuse and Adapt CNY board member, and Andy Breuer, project manager at Hueber-Breuer Construction Co. and Adapt CNY board member. Mike Villa, director of real estate at AnCor, Inc. will also present. The group will speak on “Reinventing Downtown: A Look at Two Approaches to Creating Downtown Housing and Restoring Architectural Landmarks.”
Adapt CNY is currently renovating the Wilson Building, a unique architectural treasure in the heart of downtown Syracuse built in 1898. “Our mission is to combat urban blight in downtown Syracuse through revitalization of existing, vacant buildings. The Wilson Building is our first project,” said Breuer. The construction firm plans to turn the vacant building into 36 residential units and provide approximately 7,000 square feet of retail space. AnCor Inc. is a general contracting and construction management firm that operates throughout the United States and Canada. AnCor is currently working on renovating the former Hotel Syracuse. Symphony Place at Hotel Syracuse Square will consist of a high-rise condominium tower with 54 condo units. Dining, shopping and other services will occupy the street level.
