A new service has been launched this week to help small businesses get online. A study published by 1&1 Internet last year revealed that a staggering 46% of small businesses still don’t have a website.

Cadover Creative is a new web design service providing a ‘one stop shop’ to help small businesses and organisations build a successful online presence. By providing extensive advice and support, it aims to increase the proportion of small businesses that have effective websites.

Cadover Creative was founded by professionally qualified web and software designer Andrew Keith. Frustrated by the number of small businesses without websites, he decided it was time to change things. Whilst researching the UK web design industry, he discovered it was difficult to find an affordable service providing high quality, professional websites.

Mr Keith explained: “I found several large web design agencies offering hi-tech websites for prices that are out of reach of most small businesses. At the other end of the scale, I found less qualified people providing very cheap websites which look old-fashioned, are difficult to use or have faults such as broken links. I found very little between these two extremes.”

Cadover Creative aims to bridge this gap and provide support for small to medium-sized businesses. A full range of website services is available including free consultations, website design, logos and branding, online shops, website marketing, professional photography and promotional video.

Based near the popular beauty spot of Cadover Bridge in Dartmoor National Park close to Plymouth, Devon, Cadover Creative aims to keep costs to a minimum.

Mr Keith said: “To make our services affordable to small businesses and non-profit organisations, our costs are based on the amount of time it will take to complete each task. Unlike most web companies, our prices are published upfront on our website. Our prices start at £495 for a complete website.

“The public expects every business to have a website. The Internet has developed so fast that many small businesses have been left behind. Many are unsure of the benefits, but over 80% of small businesses with websites say it has increased their sales.”

Mr Keith continued: “The beauty of the Internet is that allows all businesses to compete on a level playing field regardless of their size or location. Our aim is to help small businesses take advantage of this and guide them through the process of getting online.”

CASE STUDIES
Prior to its official launch this week, Cadover Creative provided websites for two organisations: carpentry and joinery business Dartmoor Joinery (www.dartmoorjoinery.co.uk) and North Road West Medical Centre (www.northroadwest.co.uk). A senior partner at North Road West Medical Centre, said: “The partnership would highly recommend Andy Keith of Cadover Creative as a website designer. He took us from a position of ignorance to a position where we can offer a sophisticated but user-friendly website which has catered to all our service and design needs, and more.”
