NewsCollective offers free republishing of articles by leading

NewsCollective, a website which provides an innovative approach to sourcing content online, is offering publishers across the world non-exclusive republishing rights to articles from leading Swedish journalists like Johan Westerholm, Gunnar Lindstedt and many others -- free of charge.

Stockholm, Sweden. May 25th, 2010:NewsCollective, a company focused on empowering journalists and publishers worldwide to source content online, has announced that as a part of its beta testing phase, publishers globally will be allowed to republish articles from leading journalists free of charge. NewsCollective will offer this non-exclusive republishing right to publications worldwide, provided they give due credit to the journalist and state NewsCollective as source.

“We at NewsCollective are very pleased with the beta launch and response we have received far.
In less than a fortnight we have had over 300 professional journalists from all over the world registering themselves on our site. NewsCollective has a stringent process for qualifying the best amongst these journalists during the beta stage, to ensure that we have the right quality of content to be accessed by publishers for immediate use.” stated Jan Villars, CEO of NewsCollective.

NewsCollective already has several reputed journalists like Johan Westerholm and Gunnar Lindstedt from Sweden whose articles are available for republishing. Gunnar Lindstedt, a journalist with 30 years experience, has written features for different magazines and daily newspapers. In the 90's, he blew the lid off the Trustor scandal, which was one of the largest economic crimes in Sweden since the World War. He has published over seven books and also won the national award for best journalist.

Another star journalist on NewsCollective is Johan Westerholm, a freelance political advisor and analyst whose main fields of interest are domestic and international politics with a focus on international and bi-lateral relations, social media, democracy and personal integrity. He is also all set to publish two books as a co-author later this year.

There are several other professional journalists from India, Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, Philippines etc; who have uploaded their articles on the site. Publishers who register themselves on NewsCollective can gain access to these articles and then republish them in their individual publications and sites; as long as they give credit to the journalist and mention that NewsCollective is the source for the content.

“Many media houses are facing the challenge of meeting the dynamic demands of their readers for global content, but they can’t deploy more professional journalists to cater to this constant need. NewsCollective offers an alternative to them, by giving them the option to select articles, photos and videos, uploaded by professional journalists – faster and easier,” explained Jan Villars.

Registered journalists on NewsCollective have the option of uploading free or paid content. Under paid content they can mention the price they expect for their articles, photos and videos. Publishers can choose to view or download from either types of this content, after they register on the site and use them, dependent on their needs.

NewsCollective’s purpose is to create an online news bureau where journalists can market their articles, stories, features, photographs and videos at a fixed price or through a bidding process. These transparent modules help media organizations to tackle the daunting task of managing global information and news at one place, which makes outsourcing easy. Professional journalists on the other hand can decide the price they would like to set for the unique content they have created and negotiate the same directly with the publishers, faster and safer.

This website is under invitation only beta testing currently and slated to be launched officially in September 2010.
