New Opening of Practice for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Beta Klinik in Bonn, Germany
Because Beta Klinik focuses on diagnostics and therapy of head and spinal diseases, it seemed to suggest itself that psychiatric and physiotherapeutic aspects would find their way into the medical range of services. This especially holds since not all physical complaints have their origin in the corresponding part of the body but also can be caused by psyche. It is possible that, for example, dizziness, tinnitus, impaired balance or even back pain or other complaints of the back are psychologically caused and symptoms of a psychological illness. In contrast to this, it is also possible that physical complains have a huge impact on psyche and bring about psychological complaints to be treated with psychiatric and psychotherapeutic measures.
Dr. Hawellek focuses on the treatment (psychotherapeutical and psychopharmalogical) of in-patients with affective (e.g., depressive) anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, personality and schizophrenic disorders and the out-patient treatment in the fields of psychiatry and psychotherapy (individual or group therapy). She successfully absolved additional trainings in Depth Psychological Psychotherapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, CBASP (Cognitive Behavioral System of Psychotherapy, J. McCollough) and Philosophical Teaching Practice (Dr. Gerd Achenbach, IGPP). Besides clinical practice, Dr. Hawellek devotes time to research and is an active member of several physician associations.
Beta Klinik is an International Head and Spine Center founded in April 2008 by Prof. Dr. med. Jürgen Reul. The specialist field of Beta Klinik is diagnostics and therapy of head and spinal diseases. A special focus is minimally invasive interventions and surgery, for example, microsurgical or endoscopic spine surgery. Besides diagnostics and therapy in fields of vascular diseases and diseases of peripheral nerves, Beta Klinik performs comprehensive check-ups at the Centre for Preventive Medicine.
