Agnitum licenses Outpost firewall technology to Bullguard and CAT
London, 15 November 2006 – Bullguard Ltd. and CAT today announced they are licensing award-winning Outpost firewall technology from the computer security experts at Agnitum Ltd.Bullguard (http://www.bullguard.com) specializes in user-friendly PC and mobile security, and will integrate Agnitum’s firewall engine into version 7 of the new Bullguard Internet Security Suite.
CAT owns the brand Quick Heal (http://www.quickheal.com), which is India’s leading provider of anti-virus software. CAT will re-brand Outpost Firewall Pro to add to the company’s 2007 portfolio of anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-spam Internet security tools.
“Security software companies are clearly not abandoning the market to predatory tactics by Microsoft, which entered this market to great debate with OneCare and other products,” said Mikhail Penkovsky, Agnitum’s vice president of global sales and marketing. “We know from our own and from independent testing that users deserve better – and third-party firms are eager to provide their customers with best-of-breed security tools.”

These new agreements follow a string of deals under which Agnitum licensed its firewall technology to Novell, Sophos, Lavasoft and Buhl-Data, among others.
