ServicePilot ISM Compatible with Microsoft® Silverlight™ and Moonlight™
ServicePilot ISM’s incorporation of Microsoft Silverlight technology in its latest Version 7 release opened the way for the implementation of Rich Internet Applications (RIA) in a browser, far surpassing the scope of traditional Web languages.
According to Bertrand, Mahé, President and Chief Technology Officer of ServicePilotTechnologies “The strength of Microsoft Silverlight technology lies in the ability to create applications using .Net languages and development tools This strategic development path has enabled us to create a rich and user-friendly interface while leveraging our .NET expertise.”
Moonlight, an open source implementation of Microsoft Silverlight, is the official matching piece to Silverlight for Linux. Moonlight 2.0, designed for any modern 32-bit and 64-bit Linux distributions, comes as an extension to the Firefox browser (Firefox 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5). Moonlight 2.0 embeds a CLR (Common Language Runtime) for .Net code execution, includes all Siverlight 2.0 features and extends to some Silverlight 3.0 APIs.
With either a Microsoft Windows or Linux workstation, any user can now use the ServicePilot ISM Web interface and mapping, which are built on Silverlight 3.0 and compatible with Moonlight 2.0.
