BTC Global to Start Offering US Dollar Loans to Corporate Clients

BTC Global Trading & Finance Group announced it is ready to offer loans to corporate clients from September 17. The company’s Head of Lending, Alex Hooper, declared the time is right to start providing this service.

“This new facility is aimed primarily at bitcoin-owning corporations that need additional credit for their business operations,” he explained. “This is a way to make their earlier investment in cryptocurrencies work for them during the current downturn in exchange rates.”

Loan applicants would provide bitcoins as collateral for US dollar loans.

“Our goal is to make the loan process as simple and straightforward for our corporate clients, as it is for businesses from the developing world to borrow US dollars,” said Hooper. “The risks and rewards for obtaining a dollar loan while using bitcoins as security are probably the same as for those making repayments in Turkish lira or Indonesian rupiah, for example. The key to a successful loan is that all parties factor in all the risks right from the start.”

Mr. Hooper acknowledged the volatility in bitcoin values might deter some potential borrowers, but pointed out BTC Global is offering new opportunities for companies that already own cryptocurrencies, and don’t know what to do with them at a time when their values have declined.

“If you decide to just sit tight and hope bitcoin values will increase above the price you paid for them then your bitcoins are a waste of your resources for as long as it takes for values to rise again,” he declared. “We are giving bitcoin-owning companies a chance to make their assets work for them regardless of market values.”
