Information Victoria Launches “VisualPlace”, a New Public-Facing Mapping Tool Built by GT
Melbourne, Australia, February 24th, 2010
Geomatic Technologies (GT) is pleased to announce that Information Victoria, a business unit of the Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development, has teamed with GT to launch a new mapping tool called VisualPlace.
VisualPlace is a six month Proof of Concept that tests innovative ways of capturing, exploring and visualising government information and services through maps. The Proof of Concept aims to develop improved access to government information and services and provide a user-friendly functionality to non-GIS experts to easily create, analyse and visualise location-based government information, services and data.
VisualPlace is built on the Visual Fusion platform, the clear market leader in the provision of highly engaging and interactive mapping experiences. IDV Solutions, which developed Visual Fusion, has teamed with GT to offer Visual Fusion to the Australasian market.
