Combines Four Noiseproofing Technologies into One Total Solution for Home and Commercial Renovations

Fargo, ND – The Green Glue Company has announced its new noiseproofing system, which incorporates four easy-to-use, environmentally responsible and cost-effective technologies that substantially reduce noise transmission between rooms. Existing homes and commercial buildings can now be soundproofed easily with minimal investment and with no special training to improve quality of life and increase property value.

Green Glue’s system consists of Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound, Clips, Sealant, and Joist Tape.

When applied between two sheets of drywall, plywood or other building substrate, Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound drastically reduces noise transfer from one room to the next by as much as 90 percent, including low frequency sounds that are normally resistant to soundproofing. The viscoelastic product comes in easy-to-dispense tubes.

Green Glue Noiseproofing Sealant plugs up gaps and leaks in walls and ceilings that are easily overlooked but which contribute significantly to noise transfer. When applied along wall and ceiling edges, the sealant can isolate sound by as much as 30dB.

Both the Green Glue Compound and Sealant are non-toxic, environmentally responsible and contain no volatile organic chemicals (VOCs) or hazardous odors.

Green Glue Noiseproofing Clips offer an easy-to-install mechanical decoupling system to separate two sides of a wall. Separating walls helps prevent the transmission of noise vibrations by allowing one side of the wall to vibrate independently from the other. Clips can be used independently to eliminate noise, but when used in combination with Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound, more than 95 percent more noise can be stopped compared to conventional construction techniques alone.

Green Glue Noiseproofing Joist Tape eliminates noise when foot traffic causes sub-flooring and joists to rub together. Older homes in particular are subject to natural settling, resulting in creaking noises from foot steps. The Joist Tape acts as a sound isolating buffer when applied between joists and sub-flooring, and its low thermal conductivity improves energy efficiency.

Architects and residential and commercial builders can install any or all of Green Glue’s soundproofing components depending on the stage of their renovation projects. When completely gutting a room (i.e. removing the walls to the bare studs) they can consider using all of the Green Glue noiseproofing products for maximum soundproofing results.
