/ PR Agency: Cook & Schmid Public Relations
Cook & Schmid, a full-service integrated communications agency, is partnering with the Media Arts Center San Diego (MACSD). Cook & Schmid will work with MACSD to develop and launch cutting-edge, creative communications strategies, with a focus on integrating mobile, social media, and video production.

“At Cook & Schmid, we believe the strongest marketing campaigns tell the best stories. The Media Arts Center is focused on telling our collective stories, and they’re training a new generation of storytellers all across San Diego in the process,” said Grant Goad, Cook & Schmid’s director of interactive media. “This partnership expands the range of media we can use for campaigns and makes both organizations more effective.”

Cook & Schmid and MACSD are kicking off the partnership with an innovative SMS-based mobile campaign, giving away tickets to the MACSD’s flagship program, the San Diego Latino Film Festival. Festival-goers can sign up to win movie tickets and receive festival news and updates directly on their mobile phones by texting “SDFILM” to short code 82222. The mobile campaign is sponsored by the San Diego Padres, and will be accompanied by an innovative social media campaign that will run throughout the festival.

The agency also will work with MACSD’s video production team to incorporate its unique Digital Storytelling production techniques into outreach and education projects and community-based social marketing programs. Cook & Schmid will work with the MACSD’s production team and Digital Story Station technology to produce compelling short-form video to tell clients’ stories via traditional and emerging social media channels.
