Press release from: Secardeo GmbH

Secardeo certBox – the Certificate Server now available as

Secardeo’s approved certBox PKI Appliance is now available as a Virtual Appliance and as a Cloud Service.
Munich/Ismaning, 17. February 2010 – With the current version of its certBox PKI Appliance Secardeo provides different solution types for the automated searching and publishing of public keys. The approved Hardware Appliance is a ready to use certificate server for 19“ Racks. The new Virtual Appliance may be easily deployed on a VMware Server. The certBox Cloud Services provide the functions of the cert-Box for instant usage via a public server (SaaS). A free trial of the fea-tures is possible on www.certBox.org at any time.

The „certBox“ PKI-Appliance is already in successful operation by large PKIs Siemens or the European Bridge CA. E-Mail encryption with external partners is drastically simplified with Secardeo certBox and the benefit of existing enterprise PKI’s is significantly increased herewith. The certBox provides public key certificates to e-mail clients which are required for encrypting in- and outgoing messages.
The certBox performs a global certificate search in a unique fashion and it serves as a public PKI repository as well. Today’s major certifi-cate repositories containing millions of user certificates are already preconfigured in the certBox. The public access to the company’s own certificates is also provided using secure and patented methods which detect and block attack attempts and encrypt sensitive data. The search for certificates can be automated used via LDAP by E-mail-clients like Outlook or manually via HTML-search-forms. S/MIME and X.509 as well as PGP will be supported.
