Greenlots® Announces Global Rollout of Electric Vehicle Charging Solutions
Singapore (Feb 11, 2010) -- Singapore clean technology company, Zeco Systems Pte Ltd, has announced today its electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions for global markets. Marketed under the trademark, Greenlots®, the solutions offer a platform for utilities, municipalities, car park operators, EV manufacturers and distributors and others the opportunity to install, own and operate their own local charging network for electric vehicles. The shift towards electric vehicles is a major trend in transportation, driven by an increased focus on climate change, pollution, and peak oil. “The beauty of electric vehicles is that the infrastructure is already in place,” said Oliver Risse, Managing Director of Greenlots. “We have designed Greenlots to be affordable, easy to install and convenient to use. This makes it simple for our global distribution partners to own and operate their own local networks, and for EVs to proliferate.”
Major international cities such as London, New York and Tokyo are gearing up with plans to install thousands of EV charging stations. In early 2009, Greenlots introduced Singapore’s first commercial EVs and has already begun installation of EV charging points at various locations throughout Singapore. With its first distribution partners in Europe and Asia Pacific, Greenlots is aggressively seeking distribution partners in EV “hot spot” cities.
Greenlots solutions are based on usage patterns of electric vehicle drivers and tap into the existing grid infrastructure of the city. This makes Greenlots solutions highly convenient and affordable for network operators and simultaneously accessible for drivers of electric vehicles. Greenlots solutions allow network operators to utilize existing electricity and parking infrastructure with limited additional cost to operate a commercial network of charging points. The modular design allows network operators to scale-up their networks according to the deployment of EVs in a city. Greenlots networks are managed and monitored via a web-based platform. “We provide the tools and services to make the lives of our partners and network operators easier,” said Risse.
Greenlots Solutions:
Greenlots Point
Greenlots Point is the on-grid charging infrastructure that allows authorized users to access charging points with a membership card. Greenlots Point meets all major safety standards and is IEC 61851 compliant. Each device allows for controlled access to the power grid, has a built-in energy meter and data log and communicates real-time with the Greenlots server. Greenlots Point can be used by any electric vehicle that be charged at household power outlets.
Greenlots Solar
Greenlots Solar are modular solar charging stations for electric vehicles that can be easily deployed anywhere for zero emission transportation. The stations provide a high impact showcase for sustainable transport and also offer attractive advertising space. Fully customizable, the freestanding structure is compact for easy transportation and set-up.
Greenlots Sky
Greenlots Sky is the web-based software that allows network operators to monitor and control all charging devices including metering, billing, security, and reporting.
Greenlots currently has partners in Austria, China, Germany, and Hong Kong, and is in discussion with other potential partners in EV “hot spot” cities in Australia, Benelux, California, Canada, France, Iceland, India, Japan, New York, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, Taiwan and United Kingdom. “With our partners, our target for 2010 is to install Greenlots networks in more than 10 countries,” said Risse.
