Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, Govt. of Uttarakhand takes the digital step on Social Media Platforms

Today’s digital world now hears another bell called “PashudhanUK”. Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, Govt. of Uttarakhand has taken the digital step towards forming a communicative channel by launching its social media platforms.

This initiative has been taken by the department in order to expand its reach to the target audience – which are primarily people who are earning their livelihood through the means of agriculture and to make them aware of the ongoing and upcoming schemes and projects along with certain other information. To up their game, the departments have come together to form a confluence of information flow on a regular basis to disseminate the same over their pages, also targeting the visual appeal of the viewer. The trend of using digital platforms/social media has become a part of the fast transforming times where, people are always on the run.

“The Government is actively trying to develop the sectors of animal husbandry, fisheries and dairies in Uttarakhand. “PashudhanUK”, the name by which our social media pages are addressed, is a step towards both engaging a larger number of people through the means of technology and also urging the respective working class to adopt the digital method, so as to lead the demographic towards this advancement”, said Smt. Rekha Arya, Hon’ble Minister of Animal Husbandry, sharing her words for this initiative taken by the departments.

“PashudhanUK” ensures the viewers that their pages will showcase all the current and correct noise for the people. In a recent attempt to engage with the people, the page pushed off a contest named, “FELFIE CONTEST – APNE PASHU KE SAATH SELFIE”, wherein the people of Uttarakhand and beyond can send in their selfies along with the livestock they look after by the help of appropriate tagging. These kind of influencing programs are highly appreciated for its power to mould the society in an ascending manner.

Dr. R. Meenakshi Sundaram, IAS, Secretary, Animal Husbandry also shared his views, “The usages of gadgets in recent times have boosted unlike anything else but hopefully, the people who we plan to reach will find some reason for their dependency. With pashudhanUK we plan to make people aware of what is going on around them in these domains and thrive to establish a two way communication, where the point is to not only share the information about our activities but also to know what the people have to say.”
