New Search Engine Ready to Take on Competition
Portland, Oregon -- ZeroPen.com is a new search engine based on a combination of old-school values and exciting new technologies."This is not your usual search engine," said owner and creator Robert Melluish. The search engine is designed based on submission of key words and key phrases. This is in direct opposition to the competition, such as Yahoo! and Google, which both grant better rankings to sites based on link popularity and advertising dollars.
Webmasters submit a list of URL (Uniform Resource Locator) pages to be scanned by the new 0pn Skeleton Crawler and included in the results database. The search is based on key words and phrases selected to describe the site by the webmasters. These words and phrases help determine the site's search ranking.
The site also takes advantage of a new search technology, called Autobool, which takes every word the user types in and automatically includes it into the search.
"There is no need to use Boolean operators - such as quotes, plus or minus signs - to narrow down a search. ZeroPen picks the best results for that phrase - no exceptions," said Melluish.
Being the "underdog" in the competitive search engine business does not scare Melluish. The new technologies, combined with back-to-basics searches, are expected to attract the attention of the Internet community.
