Remington College offers free back-to-school haircuts for kids

ORLANDO, Fla. – (July 9, 2018) – When the first bell rings for a new school year, kids everywhere will be excited to share their summer adventures or show off a new look.

Nonprofit Remington College is making that easy. Throughout the month of August, Remington College campuses across the country are providing free back-to-school haircuts for kids through the Cuts for Kids program.

The Cuts for Kids program is a win all around. It allows students 17 and younger to get a free haircut, helping them to look and feel their best on the first day, and helping parents save some money during the expensive back-to-school shopping season. In addition, the program allows students in Remington College’s cosmetology program to get hands-on experience in real-world situations as part of their education. It is one of the many ways Remington College lives out its nonprofit mission and gives back to the community.

Remington College has provided more than 17,000 free back-to-school haircuts through the Cuts for Kids program, which is in its 10th year.

Participating campuses include:

• Remington College Cleveland Campus
• Remington College Columbia Campus (South Carolina)
• Remington College Webster Campus (Texas)
• Remington College Greenspoint Campus (Texas)
• Remington College Lafayette Campus (Louisiana)
• Remington College Mobile Campus

And parents won’t be left out. Anyone who brings a donation of school supplies, from pens and pencils to notebooks, will also receive a free haircut, manicure or pedicure themselves. Supplies will be collected and donated to local schools for students in need.

The Remington College Cosmetology program teaches students the art of hair, skin and nail care through traditional classroom instruction and hands-on training in The Salon at Remington, which allows students to work with real clients.
