With reports on the gig economy just not adding up, both workers and employers are turning to industry experts for clarification.

Charlotte, North Carolina - July 5, 2018 - As the inconsistencies and controversies surrounding the gig economy begin to mount, both employees and business owners alike are looking to industry experts to clear up the confusion.
The workforce is changing, that is a fact most can seem to agree on. The details of those changes, however, are an area of heated debate.
The elevated attention to the changing workforce comes after the report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which claimed the numbers of nontraditional employment have not increased. On a daily basis, other articles are being published claiming just the opposite, even predicting this type of employment will dominate the workforce in a few short years.
Which information is accurate? Terri Gallagher, of Gallagher & Consultants, is a global and domestic contingent workforce market expert. Terri’s twenty years of experience and keen eye have enabled her to develop innovative strategies with proven results for multiple fortune 100 and fortune 500 companies.
Terri’s expertise has been regularly featured in Recruiting Daily, Spend Matters, Mamu Media, The Staffing Stream/SIA, and she has made countless appearances as a keynote speaker throughout the industry. Her honest approach, innovative strategies, and keen eye for effective solutions have proven her to be an industry leader.
In an interview with Future Workforce, Terri said this about the gig economy, “Some people confuse the terminology. ‘Gig’ has been tossed around for many types of nontraditional workforces. Some stats that talk about the enormous growth of the on-demand economy are referring to Uber, for example, and not traditional independent contractors. For many of the clients we work with, there’s still a bit of a love/hate relationship with the on-demand workforce. Their viewpoint has not caught up with the “new normal” of the workforce landscape of today. There are some misconceptions around the quality and reliability of this talent. Many don’t realize that some of the best talent is in this community. They want to understand the risk.”
As the patent-holder for the Workforce Solutions Ecosystem Model and successful career optimizing this economy, many are looking to her to shed light on the realities of this industrial movement.
