Radisson Los Angeles Airport Hotel

Radisson Los Angeles Airport Hotel

Few locations are as culturally diverse as the international travel hub in the second largest city in the United States. As the closest hotel to the Los Angeles International Airport, the Radisson LAX team is proud of the diversity of its stakeholders and is celebrating the holidays with decorations representing various countries across the globe.

“Because we host guests from all around the world, we chose to decorate the hotel for the holidays to represent different countries, with various cultures and traditions accentuated in each display,” explains Cindy Boulton, area managing director. “The international theme is perfect for our hotel, not only to recognize the diversity of our client base, but also that of our staff and community. We are so fortunate to be surrounded by such a wealth of customs and traditions.”

Each department staff selected a country to spotlight, and set out to decorate a section of the hotel with that country’s unique attributes and holiday customs in mind. They were given one additional challenge – 80% of the decorations they used must be from recycled or recyclable materials. The results are as entertaining as they are relevant, including replicas of the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Eifel Tower created from a variety of items not typically used for holiday décor.

While the decorating experience provided expanded cultural learning opportunities for the staff, it also fostered a sense of teamwork and encouraged friendly competition among the departments. Guests are encouraged to vote for their favorite regions by casting a ballot at the Concierge Desk in the hotel lobby. Virtual guests can also participate by viewing the video on YouTube and casting a vote.

About the Radisson Los Angeles Airport Hotel: Offering 580 guest rooms and 42,000 square feet of newly renovated meeting space, the Radisson LAX has recently earned Green Seal’s Silver Certification for Lodging Properties and Leadership Level participation in the California Green Lodging program.
