Intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring (IONM) is a monitoring technique which states to a group of procedures used during surgery to monitor neural pathways during high-risk neurosurgical, orthopedic, peripheral nerve, and vascular surgeries. During the Otolaryngology surgery it can help greatly in assisting some of the conditions such as thyroidectomies, parathyroidectomies, parotidectomies and mastoidectomies. For urology peripheral nerve surgery, radical retropubic EMG, cryosurgery EMG are assisted by IONM.
