Shanghai, China – May 14th, 2018- AKTIVO Motors, an electric portable mobility start-up, is launching the world’s first electric hubless wheel motor scooter: The AKTIVO Scoot. Finally, a well-designed electric scooter to hit the streets with style, is arriving at Kickstarter in June.
The AKTIVO Scoot has the perfect balance between elegance and performance. It is built out of a single-piece magnesium frame, and is propelled by an astonishing empty wheel electric motor. With a 1000W brushless motor, the AKTIVO Scoot is the most powerful scooter in the market.
AKTIVO’s patented motor technology provides unprecedented torque allowing users to go virtually anywhere in the city. The AKTIVO Scoot can conquer slopes up to 20%, twice as any regular scooter. This technology also allows for faster motor response, increasing the thrill of maneuvering and feeling of overall speed.
Inspired in the car industry, with elegant yet dynamic and sportive design lines, the AKTIVO Scoot looks like no other. “We really wanted to create a unique looking personal transportation vehicle” says Kome, CEO of AKTIVO Motors. “More and more people will be using electric scooters in the urban areas. However, all the designs and solutions out there seem to make riding a bit awkward: either the designs are strange and not stylish enough, like “DIY kid toys on steroids”, either you can’t go up slopes effectively, or simply you are afraid to ride them because some are unsafe. This is where we wanted to make a difference.”
The AKTIVO Scoot will run in 2 driving modes: Fun and Eco. In Fun mode, the rider can go up to 30Km/h (18.6Mph) and enjoy the full power and torque of the active wheel. Whereas on Eco mode the rider can increase autonomy to more than 25Km (15.5Mph) with a single charge with a comfortable reduced speed. To be in complete control, the AKTIVO Scoot is equipped with a double action handlebar break. It activates simultaneously a high performance ceramic mechanical brake and a motor brake.
All the information regarding current speed, battery status, and hardware health is directly displayed on the AKTIVO Scoot’s bright LED Dashboard. The user can use their Smartphone’s AKTIVO iOS/Android mobile app to access data such as logs, battery charge cycles, pending autonomy in kilometer, complete travelling distance and others.
“During the last 3 years we have produced more than 100,000 brushless motors for skateboards. It was about time to use all of our knowledge and technical know-how to deliver the most advanced brushless electric motor for personal portable transportation solutions” says Kome, CEO of AKTIVO Motors. “We have dedicated 1.5 years in AKTIVO Scoot’s R&D process. We gathered a Top team, some of who developed the first ultralight electric skateboard (the E-Go Cruiser), and filed 7 patents on the way to conclude the design of the active motor wheel”
Prototype testing has been underway since late 2017 gathering feedback from experienced riders to update and refine the AKTIVO Scoot’s final version. We want our backers to receive an awesome scooter that they will use on a daily basis.
The AKTIVO Scoot will be available for purchase during our June Kickstarter campaign (price to be confirmed). First shipments are been organized for August 2018.
