Preimplantation testing is an adjuvant technique to in vitro fertilization (IVF) for detecting genetic diseases or conditions before the implantation of embryo. It can be performed for screening of a range of medical conditions such as Down’s syndrome, inheritable diseases, and traits of other physiological abnormality. Increase in patient awareness about preimplantation genetic manipulation (PGM) technique and rise in prevalence of genetic disorders among infants drive demand for PGM and IVF procedures.
