New line of chairs "X"

An ergonomic and aesthetic line of chairs for demanding environments

Internationally renowned and recognized designer Yrjö Kukkapuro has joined forces with Treston Oy, a leading European supplier of industrial furniture, to develop a completely new line of office chairs that offer uncompromised ergonomics coupled with an aesthetic design.

The collaboration between Treston Oy and Yrjö Kukkapuro, who is known as an unwavering advocate of ergonomics, stems from a shared mission: to create a new line of office chairs for demanding applications, designed from start to finish with ergonomics in mind. This goal led to a two-year collaboration project resulting in a line of chairs that has now been launched by Treston.

A union of ergonomics and aesthetics
The importance of ergonomic features in industrial furniture has been accentuated in recent years in line with ever increasing expectations regarding productivity and workplace comfort. The ergonomics of Treston’s new line of chairs is based on efficient lumbar support hand in hand with adjustment capability to provide an exceptional level of comfort.

“The result is an excellent seat position that helps the user relax and minimizes tiredness, a particularly important factor in demanding work environments that call for high-level concentration and attention to detail,” says Treston’s Project Manager Reijo Raatesalmi, an expert in industrial ergonomics.

The materials and components used in the chairs – the textiles, the gas springs and the casters – have been carefully chosen on the basis of stringent quality criteria. Yrjö Kukkapuro’s touch is clearly visible in the unique, bold and timeless design of the chairs.
“Not only do the chairs easily meet the requirements for industrial and technical environments; they are also pleasing to the back and to the eye, meaning the chairs are also ideal for use in offices and conference rooms,” says Treston’s Marketing Manager Heikki Härmälä.
