GE Security selects Steelwedge Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP)

Pleasanton, CA October 26, 2009 Steelwedge Software, the leader in cloud-based S&OP solutions, announced today that General Electric (NYSE:GE) is deploying the Steelwedge Cloud-based Sales and Operations Platform to support its collaborative S&OP process and leverage their investment in their Oracle ERP system. The project is a key element of a global inventory reduction initiative.

GE Security offers communication and information technologies for security, safety and lifestyle enhancements and has operations in more than 30 countries. General Electric Security selected Steelwedge to improve S&OP plan accuracy, on-time delivery and profitability. The Steelwedge solution will enable General Electric Security to consolidate and manage planning inputs from sales, finance and operations in a single S&OP platform.

The initial phase of the solution roll-out will focus on creating a more accurate sales forecast. Sales executives and planners will use Steelwedge S&OP to capture and forecast unit demand, revenues and cost of goods sold and measure actual performance against plan. The solution will also allow for integration of planned deals from the sales opportunity pipeline into the overall forecast and provide visibility into the demand plan to supply chain planners. Executive management will use the Steelwedge S&OP solution to review, approve and adjust forecasts and to align them with sales and operational plans.
