The Lanier Law Firm Announces Addition of Appellate Attorney

HOUSTON – The Lanier Law Firm is announcing the continued expansion of the firm’s Houston office with the addition of appellate practitioner and former U.S. Supreme Court Clerk Jack L. White.

A West Point graduate who served five years as an Army officer before graduating with honors from law school, Mr. White recently completed a prestigious term as a law clerk for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr.

In addition to his appellate expertise, Mr. White also provides clients with state and federal court experience in securities claims, white collar matters, bankruptcies and real estate disputes.

“Jack is a superb attorney who provides critical insights for clients facing courtroom trials as well as legal appeals,” says firm founder Mark Lanier. “His experiences working at the U.S. Supreme Court and serving our country in the military will benefit our firm and every one we represent.”

Mr. White graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1995 after earning numerous honors, including being named West Point Cadet of the Year. After serving five years as a U.S. Army officer, he attended Pepperdine University School of Law, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and served as editor-in-chief of the Pepperdine Law Review. While at Pepperdine, Mr. White won the National Institute for Trial Advocacy's Tournament of Champions and the annual Dalsimer Moot Court Competition. He also served as president of the Christian Legal Society and was a member of Order of the Barristers and Order of the Coif.

Following law school, Mr. White worked as a law clerk at the United States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit on behalf of Justice Alito, who was then a judge on that court. When Justice Alito was elevated to the U.S. Supreme Court, he asked Mr. White to join him for a second clerkship during the Supreme Court’s 2008-2009 term.

With offices in Los Angeles, Palo Alto, Houston and New York, The Lanier Law Firm is committed to addressing client concerns with effective and innovative solutions in courtrooms across the country. The firm is composed of outstanding trial attorneys with decades of experience handling cases involving pharmaceutical liability, asbestos exposure, intellectual property, business litigation, product liability, toxic exposure and maritime law.
