Urgent Care Center UCC) improves document workflows with Newgen

The Urgent Care Centers (UCC) are primarily used to treat patients who have an injury or illness that requires immediate care but is not serious enough to warrant a visit to an emergency room.

Confronted with the need to become highly efficient, healthcare organizations are facing the need to spend wisely to accommodate a range of needs and enable the responsiveness required in mission-critical situations. Implementing the (Electronic Records Management) ERM solution at UCC was a step forward to make the transaction processing more efficient, productive and streamlined, while continually reducing costs.

The major roadblocks faced by UCC were difficulty to misplacing paper based charts, storage and retrieval of patient data, accessibility of offsite storage charts at all times, difficulty to apply and enforce the retention policies and track pending payments.

Newgen ERM solutions enabled UCC to address these challenges by providing a single system to capture, manage, store, and securely distribute patient information including medical records and diagnostic results.

About Dr Roger Garcia

Roger Garcia, D.O., J.D:

Dr. Roger Garcia graduated from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1983 and from Capital University Law School in 1996. Dr. Garcia has obtained board certifications in family medicine from the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, in emergency medicine from the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians, as an Independent Medical Examiner from the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners and in Anti-Aging medicine from the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Legal Medicine, the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians and completed his Fellowship in Functional and Regenerative Medicine through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. Dr. Garcia has held Emergency Medicine and Executive Management positions in various hospital systems most recently as the Emergency Department Director and Chief of Staff at his present hospital, Bellevue Hospital in Bellevue, Ohio. Dr. Garcia has held medical committee appointments at the Governmental Affairs Committee of the American College of Osteopathic Physicians, the Managed Care Committee of the Ohio Osteopathic Association, and the Hospital Subcommittee of the Ohio Trauma Advisory Board. Dr. Garcia also has experience in physician practice management as owner with BCA Management Services, LLC, a billing and practice management company.

He currently is President of Acute Care Partners an emergency and urgent care development corporation in Columbus, Ohio and Chief Medical Officer of a national organization bringing chronic disease management systems to Primary Care Offices. Dr. Garcia also is a member of BodyLogicMD, a national network of highly trained anti-aging physicians specializing in bioidentical hormone therapy now featured on Oprah Winfrey. He operates a busy anti-aging medical practice in Columbus, Ohio where he devotes his practice to the art of aesthetic and preventive medicine, wellness, anti-aging, nutrition and fitness. He has devoted his practice to the advancement of technology to detect, prevent, and treat aging related disease and to promote research into methods to retard and optimize the human aging process. Dr. Garcia is a highly sought lecturer on the demographics of aging and the impact of biomedical technologies on longevity.
