Convertible Top controller SmartTOP for VW EOS gets internet connectivity

The new SmartTOP comfort top controller add-on for the Volkswagen EOS now sports a USB port for quick online feature updates. Additionally the latest firmware version released for this module now allows operation of the convertible top with installed hitch and trailer.

Corona, California – Oct. 3rd, 2009 - With no doubt the two most remarkable highlights about the SmartTOP after-market convertible top controller series are the ability to raise and lower the top from afar with the factory key fob as well as one-touch operation from the console button – the latter even while driving at speeds of up to 30 mph.

To further improve the customer experience, mods4cars decided to equip their convertible top modules with a standard USB port, allowing customers to connect the module to an internet PC and download new features as they become available.

The recently released firmware update for VW’s convertible Goddess from Germany improves day to day living even further. Now the top can be operated, if desired, even while the hitch is installed. Just like all the others, this feature can be activated or deactivated in the on board computer configuration menu.

An individual touch for everyone who likes to personalize: The duration of the chirp signal given by the module when locking and unlocking the car can now be altered in several steps.
