New York goes Billerbeck – Dr. Suwelack Skin & Health Care Ltd. appoints James A. Hayward, Ph.D., D.Sc., to its board of directors

International strengthening of the board of Dr. Suwelack Skin & Health Care Ltd., Billerbeck, NRW, Germany. With immediate effect Professor Dr. James A. Hayward is appointed to the board of the leading developer and manufacturer of biomatrices in the Asian, U.S., and European markets.

Billerbeck, 18th July, 2006: Hayward studied biology and chemistry at New York State University, Oneonta. In 1976 the now 52 year-old gained his bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry and in 1983 was awarded a doctorate in molecular biology and biophysics by New York State University, Stony Brook. In 2000, for his outstanding achievements, the university conferred an honorary doctorate upon him. Hayward gained a considerable reputation for his research into liposomes for medical and industrial uses. In this area the molecular biologist holds 50 patents and has published numerous scientific papers. He was research director and a member of the founding board of directors of the first European liposome manufacturers (Biocompatibles Ltd.). From 1984 to 1989 as research director for the Estée Lauder company he was responsible for product development at a global level. Hayward has also served on the boards of various non-profit organisations. In the course of his career he has raised more than 120 million dollars of investment capital for technology companies.
