TraceSpan's NG-PON Xpert™ OLT Emulator Supports User-Defined Tests and Playback

Ra’anana, Israel, April 4, 2018 – TraceSpan Communications, a leader in broadband analysis and monitoring solutions, announced today that it has enhanced the capabilities of its NG-PON OLT Emulator to support user-defined tests as well as OMCI playback. The new OLT emulator currently supports XGS-PON and XG-PON1 and is upgradeable to support NG-PON2 as well.
The new capability, which was added on to the NG-PON Xpert OLT Emulator, allows the user to define his own test-cases with a wide variety of options and flexibility of parameters. In addition, it can emulate any OLT model from any vendor by playing back OMCI messages that were captured from the OLT and injecting them into the ONU. This makes the NG-PON Xpert and extremely powerful tool for troubleshooting of OMCI issues when testing an ONU stand-alone, as well as for verification of the ONU's interoperability with the OLT.
The NG-PON Xpert can simultaneously perform OLT emulation with capture and analysis of the data to-and-from the ONU under test. It can compare the ONU's behavior to its expected one for each one of its test cases by providing Pass/Fail indications for the various tested steps. Its wide variety of predefined test cases is derived from the BBF ATP-247 ONU conformance test plan, which is an industry-accepted document for high-quality stand-alone ONU testing.
