Gonçalo Falcão Joins Thompson & Knight in Rio de Janeiro

The global law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP, through its affiliated office Tauil & Chequer Advogados, is pleased to announce that Gonçalo Falcão has joined the Firm’s Rio de Janeiro office as a Partner in the Tax Practice Group. Falcão focuses his practice on international tax matters, representing clients around the globe and particularly throughout Africa, including Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea, and São Tomé & Príncipe.

Falcão has extensive experience advising companies regarding Angola tax-related matters, including those pertaining to the oil and gas sector. In addition, he assists companies in setting up their business structures in Angola and Mozambique in compliance with the investment law, labor law, immigration, and foreign exchange control requirements. He also has depths of experience in oil and gas, corporate, foreign investment, labor and immigration, and foreign exchange matters. Falcão is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish and is licensed to practice law in both Brazil and Portugal.
