In-house IONM is the concept where the hospitals or the treatment centers develop their own infrastructure to support all the requirements needed to carry out IONM procedures. But the trend is now shifting towards outsourced IONM. Outsourcing is mostly the collaboration of the company with the third-party vendors to complete a specific task. Now the trend in IONM is shifting towards outsourcing of IONM procedures. Hospitals outsource IONM procedures to the third-party vendors who already have the appropriate infrastructure to carry out the procedures. These vendors have the highly skilled staff to operate and manage these procedures during surgeries or the patient treatment. Outsourcing IONM procedures offer hospitals an opportunity to reduce their huge expenses. Hence lot of hospitals are opting for outsourcing of IONM procedures. Tele-Health is a process where the patient is being treated at certain place and the IONM specialist is at different place. The IONM specialist monitors the condition of the patient from the long distance with the help of internet services. Specialist works on the results from the process at his place and then sends these results to the doctor who is treating the patient. Then the doctor can take the decisions according to the IONM results. Tele-Health service helps a great deal in cases of lesser availability of the IONM specialists.
