Smt Jamuna Mishra Academy (JMA) established in the year 2004 which has been making rapid strides in early childhood education is presently one of the most sought after schools at Pilani Rajasthan.

Behind every successful institution, there has always been a dreamer. The dreamer for JMA is Dr Brij Mohan Mishra, NRI (Syracuse, New York) Physician and entrepreneur who wanted to set up a English Medium school at Pilani in memory of his beloved mother Smt Jamuna Devi.

Dr Mishra and his family members Dr Suman (wife), Dr Gautam (son) and Mridula (daughter in law) took the JMA project with passion and have nurtured it at every stage. Dr Mishra’s elder brother Dr Raghunandan Mishra who lives in Canada along with his family members also supported in adding infra structure to the JMA project.

The Goenka Pariwar of Laxmi Organic Industries who are well known for their charitable work in and around Pilani as well as for the SourcePilani Rural BPO initiative which is making waves allover for the rural transformation also gave their whole hearted support and guidance for shaping up the JMA.

JMA which started in 2004 with an enrollment of 60 students for the Nursery, LKG, First Junior and Class1 has grown today till Class V with 5 times the enrollment. While the school admits both boys and girls, the girl student enrollment has been steadily rising every year and is presently over 40% of the total strength.

The annual prize distribution ceremony took place on January 18, 2009 and Dr P S Bhatnagar Director BK Birla Institute of Engineering and Technology, Pilani was the Chief Guest for the same. The proceedings started with invocation to Devi Saraswathi the Godddess of Learning.

Dr Mishra in his speech introduced the Chief Guest to the audience and thanked Smt Booma Natarajan JMA Principal and the team of teachers for their dedicated efforts. Dr Bhatnagar in his speech appreciated the growth of the school in a short span of time to reach as one among the top sought schools at Pilani.

The prizes for various competitions and overall excellence were awarded by Dr Bhatnagar, Mrs Bhatnagar, Dr Brij Mishra and Dr Suman Mishra. Shri M P Somaniji well known personality in Pilani who had been contributing significantly through his expertise and administrative acumen right from the conceptual stage for shaping the JMA was specially felicitated for the same.

Smt Booma Natarajan Principal of the school in her thanksgiving speech said that she and her team firmly believed that success is a journey and not a destination and that they were determined to take the road to excellence in continuing the journey.

The function ended with the singing of national anthem and the parents and children who had come for the function left with beaming faces and pride that they were part of an institution which is a jewel in the crown among the schools at Pilani.
