The Bowling Green Inn, Leamington oldest pub, will be making a much welcome return to being a
community based pub after the closure of the Portuguese Bar/Restaurant that had been operating
at the premises.

Sarah Wilson and her partner David Wilson will re-open The Bowling Green in Leamington on Friday July 15th for locals looking for a drink and simple pub grub.

Mrs Wilson said: "We will open July 15th for those wanting a drink and we will open the kitchen in
early August for good pub food.

"We will be serving Burgers, Pizza’s or just a bowl of chips if that is what people want."

Mrs Wilson has 15 years in the pub trade and the couple successfully turned around the Bunch of Grapes pub in Warwick, unfortunately losing it to the Brewery selling the site for housing
development.

"We want to take the Bowling Green back to being a good community pub for the south town residents. We will be doing quite a bit of work in the garden to make it more child-friendly."

The new owners are offering 30% discount on your first round of drink when you take this article into the pub during opening weekend (Friday 15th July to Sunday 17th July).
