Press release from: CONRIC PR & Marketing

Tickets are selling fast for Southwest Florida’s premier tennis event. The greatest men’s doubles team of all-time, two of the top-ranked American singles players in the world, and former Wimbledon and French Open champions are among the world-class tennis talent playing in this year’s Golisano Children’s Hospital Pro Tennis Classic, the grand finale of Madisen’s Match. The stars will take the court on Monday, March 18 at 7 p.m. inside Suncoast Credit Union Arena on the campus of Florida SouthWestern State College. Limited seating is still available at madisensmatch.com.

Mike Bryan, the reigning No. 1 doubles player in the world, will again team with decorated brother Bob Bryan in the night’s marquee matchup. The Bryans are fresh off their 117th doubles title, recently winning the Delray Beach Open. They’ll take on an impromptu doubles pairing of top-ranked Americans Taylor Fritz and Sam Querrey.

Before that, Fritz and Querrey will square off in a singles match. The evening also features a legends doubles match, with 2001 Wimbledon doubles champion Don Johnson teaming with 1986 French Open singles finalist Mikael Pernfors to go up against 1993 French Open doubles champ Luke Jensen and 2005 U.S. Open singles semifinalist Robby Ginepri.

“This is probably the finest lineup of pros we’ve ever had,” Madisen’s Match founder Duane Chaney said. “It’s world-class tennis, and best of all, it’s for a good cause.”

Proceeds from the Golisano Children’s Hospital Pro Tennis Classic and all Madisen’s Match events benefit local cancer treatment programs. Madisen’s Match has raised more than $1 million since it began in 2009 as a tribute to Madisen Abramson, Chaney’s niece, who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor at age 3.

Madisen is now a relatively healthy teenager who regularly appears at the annual Madisen’s Match VIP Gala & Auction, which takes place this year on Saturday, March 16. Madisen’s Match also includes a Legends Tennis Camp on the morning of Monday, March 18, with many of the same names from the Golisano Children’s Hospital Pro Tennis Classic, including the Bryan brothers. A few tickets still remain on madisensmatch.com.

“This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to see tennis royalty up close in Southwest Florida,” Chaney said. “It’s a can’t-miss for anyone who loves the game.”

The main event will be held indoors for just the second time. Last year’s Golisano Children’s Hospital Pro Tennis Classic was the first indoor tennis event ever held in Southwest Florida, with a custom hardcourt surface laid down in place of the basketball court at Suncoast Credit Union Arena.

Duane Chaney established Madisen’s Match in 2008 after his 3-year-old niece, Madisen Abramson, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Inspired by Madisen and determined to help others, Chaney created Madisen’s Match to use tennis as a way to raise funds for pediatric and adult cancer charities. To date, the events have raised more than $1 million to benefit national and Southwest Florida-based charities like the Brain Tumor Navigator Program at the Regional Cancer Center, Barbara’s Friends - The Golisano Children’s Hospital Cancer Center Fund, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, and the Tim and Tom Gullikson Foundation.
