United Thinkers Strengthens UniPay Gateway Security with Point-to-point Encryption

United Thinkers adds new point-to-point encryption logic to its terminal application, part of UniPay Gateway product

New York, NY – (March 19, 2018): United Thinkers, a New-York based commercial open-source Payment Management Software provider extended the existing payment security and fraud prevention logic implemented in its terminal application with built-in point-to-point encryption solution. The already existing payment security logic that supports processor-specific point-to-point encryption is now strengthened with UniPay’s native logic, allowing UniPay clients with HSM in place to use processor-independent point-to-point encryption.

United Thinkers has its own terminal application based on Ingenico terminals. It is EMV-certified in several countries, including US, Canada, and Mexico, and can be used with different acquirers. The solution uses the unique cloud technology that allows modern Web-based POS systems to integrate with payment terminals easily and efficiently. The newly-added feature is focused on support of point-to-point encryption with in-house HSM devices.

“We are always striving to improve the security around our product. Our current step on this quest is the implementation of P2PE logic within our terminal solution. We are giving our customers the opportunity to use point-to-point encryption even in the cases when the underlying processor does not provide its own native solution” says United Thinkers president, Eugene Kipnis. “Moreover, if necessary, our solution can be PCI certified. That is, our clients can PCI-certify the point-to-point encryption solution, and we will be glad to help them with PCI audit”

The new addition extends the already broad functionality around the UniPay Gateway’s terminal solutions that includes built-in terminal management system (TMS) and fulfillment management system, allowing payment service providers to streamline payment terminal deployment. It should also be noted that United Thinkers’ terminal solution is specifically designed to accommodate the needs of payment facilitators.
