The current version 9.0.1 of the machine vision software HALCON by MVTec runs on the new Windows 7 operating system by Microsoft. Regarding tests by MVTec were completely successful.

Microsoft has scheduled its new operating system Windows 7 to go on sale on October 22, 2009. As machine vision software technology leader, MVTec naturally wants to provide HALCON also on Windows 7. Thus, MVTec’s research & development department has thoroughly and successfully tested HALCON on the new Windows 7 platform. “Therefore, we are sure that the current HALCON version 9.0.1 runs on Windows 7 without any problems”, says Christoph Zierl, MVTec’s product manager.

Moreover, the all-purpose HALCON image acquisition interfaces were successfully tested under Windows 7. That particularly includes interfaces to all cameras which are compliant to the industrial standards GigE Vision and IIDC 1394.
