According to National Institutes of Health (NIH), around 8% of all new cases of cancers are of colorectal cancer, in the U.S. Also, according to the American Cancer Society (ACS), around 95,520 new cases of colon cancer and 39,910 new cases of rectal cancer have been reported in the U.S., in 2017.

The treatment options for colorectal cancer include immunotherapy, chemotherapy and targeted therapy. Many of the immunotherapy and targeted therapy drugs are also under trial such as Pembrolizumab, Nivolumab, Ipilimumab, Durvalumab, Tremelimumab, Atezolizumab and Varlilumab.
