ReTest releases the next generation of software test automation

The release 2.0 demo is now available for download.

Karlsruhe, March 14th, 2018

ReTest, a young software company from Karlsruhe, Germany, today announced a new release of their software for automated testing. Release 2.0 offers an innovative, AI-based testing approach which exceeds conventional testing approaches since it represents a version control system for the GUI (graphical user interface). For the first time, this allows to automatically generate tests using monkey testing and to maintain tests per mouse click. A demo version for Java Swing is now available for download.

In release 2.0, ReTest added many new features. The tester can now react dynamically to changes in the test procedure by applying BeanShell programmed rules. If an unexpected notification appears, this can be handled in the ongoing testing procedure—the test no longer needs to be aborted. Consequently, it is now also possible to change or amend tests with these rules if a special circumstance requires more test steps to be added. Moreover, users are now able to program tests with an Selenium-like API and even mix these programs with existing recordings.

Among the new features are also a new command line interface, which simplifies the integration into CI servers, and the option to include pixel comparisons to the test reports as well as an overall improved stability and performance, such as when saving and loading test reports.
