Brazilian Artist Rosane Bussmann Finds Insight for Collages from Her Spiritual Life

Press release from: Agora Gallery

Chelsea’s Agora Gallery announced they will host a collective art exhibition that is scheduled to run from September 8, 2009 through September 29, 2009.
The brilliant colors and dazzling forms that characterize the tradition of Latin American art are still found in contemporary painting today. The talented artists collected here channel their zest for life, transforming it into energetic paintings that explore the individual world while celebrating the beautiful people and places that surround it. Masters of the Imagination offers a rare chance to experience the nuances of fine art by Latin American artists, not merely with the eyes, but the heart.
Brazilian artist Rosane Bussmann, has said that the inspiration for her work comes from her spiritual life, and indeed these digital collages are clearly an aesthetic manifestation of personal ideals and hopes. Although they are certainly not portraits of material reality, they are by no means alien to our inner lives. These are images we see in our dreams - symbolic expressions of emotional longing. Her images are iconic in that they are primarily concerned with the universals of life—with human connection, the changes we all endure in life and with the struggle to find common ground with the rest of the world. These are timeless pursuits, and Rosane pursues them with an artist's passion.

From the first moments of her inspiration, to the final result of these quietly stirring images into which Rosane Bussmann has put her soul, in an experience of her work we feel her integrity and commitment. They speak directly to our hearts, and we respond in kind.
