Krishnamacharya Healing & Yoga Foundation’s (KHYF) Viniyoga® Honors Women

Chennai, India., Feb. 20, 2018 Krishnamacharya Healing & Yoga Foundation, founded by TKV Desikachar, son of Professor Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, known worldwide as the father of modern Yoga, has revolutionized Yoga in the 20th century and made it accessible to everyone without gender discrimination. This is consistent with the philosophy of Prof.Krishnamacharya’s ancestor Yogi Nathamuni, who proclaimed that women have a special right to practice.

In line with their commitment to honoring women, Dr.Kausthub Desikachar, CEO & Chief Yoga Therapist, said, “we respect and acknowledge the immense role women played in society and encouraged them to empower themselves in their own path of self-discovery and expansion.

68% of KHYF Yoga Teacher Training Batch in India were women students
86% of KHYF Vedic Chant Training Batch in India comprised women students

88% of KHYF’s retreats in India comprised of women students
63% of KHYF’s One to One Therapy Classes comprise women students

86% of our current two-week Mahamudra retreat in 2018 also comprise women
