From the ashes of Shattered Dreams, Rises Phoenix of Hope - Banasthali Corona truly Extra High Voltage
On 11th February, 2018, Corona conducted “Socratic ‘Si’rcle”, the MUN event where students who were selected from a group discussion session had a heated up discussion on why the next Silicon Valley should be created in a country they were assigned to be the delegate of. They put forward notable facts and figures of the related country in front of the audience and put forth strong arguments while attacking the other countries. Also, the periodical news updates from the Global News added more thrill to the event. Ojaswita Negi B Tech CS First year stood as the winner and Aishwarya Anand BTech EI Third year as the runner up of the event. It concluded with some precious suggestions given by the esteemed judges and the audience. With being informative, the event proved to be interactive, too.
On 12th February 2018, Team Corona held its presentation event, “Turning Pages” where the participants presented their own theories of the abruptly ended cases and gave a conclusion on how the mystery possibly ended. The creativity level presented enthralled the judges and aroused curiosity in the audience and invited questions from them making the event successfully informative and interactive. Sahiba Tyagi and Sakshi Sharma BTech CS Third year bagged the first prize and Suchita Mantri and Stuti Saxena BTech CS First year were the runners up.
The event ended on a note that creativity knows no bounds and that the cravings of a human can never end. Prof. B. R. Natarajan, HoD Chemical Department expressed his interest towards the event by singing “Corona Jaan Kar Tum To Mera Dil Jod Jate Ho” and shared with the audience various interesting details.
Team Corona also conducted a few submission events, side by side, to bring forth the hidden talents of the students in the form of art or writing in Dohavali, Kalakriti, Colossus, Oh-Snap!, Gadget roast and What Do You Meme? The number of entries had been overwhelming and proved that engineers are not mugging “Ratta maar” machines but also a repository of creativity. Moreover, stalls with luscious stuffs like rolls, burger, street food, footwear attracted students and even faculties from the universities. The fascination for Waffles and Bakery stall revealed the foodie side of every one.
The last day of the fest was hectic and efficacious, too. The first half of the day occupied the finalists of branch specific events-Code.io.File (CS/IT), R.N.A- React.Nurture.Arise (BT/CE) and Olectra (EE/EC/EI/MT) where they applied their technical knowledge of their respective fields and experienced fun along. The winners for the events were Swati Chopra and Srishti Agarwal BTech CS Third year; Shotorupa Ghosh BTech BT First year, Varnika Singh BTech CE Second year, Priyanka Anand BTech BT Third year; Kirti Kushwaha BTech EC Third year, Ina Singh BTech EC Second year, Jyoti Rawat BTech CS First year for the respective branch specific events.
The next half was embellished with the excitement of “Tale-A-Spectacular”. The air was filled with much exhilaration and zest. The participants with their costumes on and practice done performed so well on stage that Prof. Sarla Pareek, Dean, AIM & ACT, grew emotional with every act while judging. The auditorium filled with the audience cheered the performances at the top of their voices and enjoyed themselves to the fullest. The environment inside the Audi mesmerized everyone present. Team Taciturners BTech Third year took away the event and stood First among all the performances, while The Black Illuminators were declared as the runner up. The final day ended with Team Corona extending thanks to everyone who has been a part of the event, directly or indirectly.
When the Phoneix celebrations ended, the students and faculty who had come for the function left with beaming faces and pride that they were indeed part of an institution which is a jewel in the crown among the women’s universities not only in India today but across the globe.
