ORLANDO – Bob Fitzsimmons, a partner with Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell, will be a featured speaker during the DRI (Defense Research Institute) Live Webcast regarding “Chinese Drywall Litigation: Emerging Developments and Legal Theories” on August 17, 2009 at 2:30 EST. Fitzsimmons is one of three speakers who will discuss recent developments in Chinese drywall litigation. The course will address the legal theories being employed by owners or claimants and the defenses available to defendants, such as suppliers, installers and builders. The webcast will also address issues that may arise with the involvement of foreign business entities, as well as applicable insurance coverage issues.

The DRI is an international organization of attorneys defending the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation. Fitzsimmons co-presenters include Christopher J. Belter of Buffalo, New York law firm Goldberg Segalla LLP and David S. Jaffe, Vice President of Legal Affairs for the National Association of Home Builders in Washington, D.C.

Bob Fitzsimmons has more than 26 years of experience handling and trying a broad variety of commercial, construction and insurance-related cases. He serves as chair of the DRI’s Construction Law Committee’s Construction Contract and Delay Damages specialized litigation group. Fitzsimmons most recently served as Co-Chair of the HarrisMartin’s Chinese Drywall Litigation Conference held in June in Orlando, Florida.

Fitzsimmons earned his law degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1982.
