GALLERY FRANK FLUEGEL, with a strong focus on Pop-Art and Contemporary Art, will open a new store in Austria for the first time ever on February 16th 2018.The gallery is located in central Kitzbuehel in a typical townhouse of Tyrol that boasts 480 years of history. The gallery will be started on Friday, February 16th with the exhibition „Mr. Brainwash meets Kitzbuehel“.
„Life is beautiful.“
This ist he message of Thierry Guetta or Mr. Brainwash, as he calls himself. He is currently the best-known street artist beneath Banksy and his works have been taking over the international world of art for many years.
Mr. Brainwash was born in France and now lives and works in Los Angeles. His international fame was kicked off with his award-winning documentary „Exit Through the Gift Shop. For this movie, the enthusiastic filmmaker followed his friend Banksy around. Like this, Mr. Brainwash got in contact with the street art scene and started to create art himself. From that moment on, Mr. Brainwash became a phenomenon and a superstar who conquered the world of art at record pace.
His first two solo exhibitions in Los Angeles (2008) and New York (2010) attracted several thousand visitors and were sold out after a few days. In 2016 the artist had his first and equally successful show in Seoul/South Corea. Many celebrities like Rihanna or Madonna, for whom he created a CD-cover, are loyal collectors.
Mr. Brainwash`s artwork is also selling successfully at auctions. Prices beyond the appraisals are reached on a regular basis. The record so far is $120,000 at Phillips de Pury in London in October 2010 for an artwork with the Einstein motiv.
Gallery Frank Fluegel with stores in Nuerberg and Kitzbuehel is focused on original artwork of Pop Art and Contemporary Art like Andy Warhol, Tom Wesselmann, Keith Haring, Mr. Brainwash, BAMBI, Roy Lichtenstein, Julian Opie, James Rosenquist, Alex Katz or Mel Ramos. Alex Katz Coca Cola Girls | GALERIE FRANK FLUEGEL
GALERIE FRANK FLUEGEL will show Alex Katz Coca Cola Girls during June and Summer 2019.
RED—a long-drawn-out, intense red, monochrome through and through. This saturated, warm red unfolds its very own effect, a lasting presence. Hear Coca‑Cola, and you see red. This red is dominant, powerful, melodic, and permeated by an infinite number of pigments that weave an impenetrable dense network of surfaces that will allow nothing less than pure color…
