New White Paper Defines Rich Media Direct Marketing Category

Press release from: Flimp Media, Inc.

Hopkinton, MA (July 30, 2009) – Flimp Media Inc., developers of cutting edge rich media marketing and analytics technology solutions, today released a white paper that defines an new category of rich media for direct marketing called Intelligent Digital Collateral, or “IDC”.

According to the white paper, entitled “Rich Media for Direct Marketing: The Emergence of Intelligent Digital Collateral”, IDC defines rich marketing collateral that is interactive, Web-based, and able to track and measure identifiable viewer engagement and interactions.

“It’s important to define what we mean when we say things like ‘interactive’ and ‘measurable,’” said Matt Shaw, Communications Content Developer at Flimp Media and co-author of the white paper. “The old definition of ‘interactive’ does not apply here. People say video is interactive, by which they simply mean that it’s engaging. To be truly interactive, rich media content must present a customer with calls to action which are, in fact, actionable within the media presented to an audience.”

As for specific measurability, IDC requires that each individual viewer be given an identity. “IDC does not concern itself with non-actionable statistics like the number of visitors,” Shaw says. “Those numbers may be helpful for brand marketing but not for direct sales and marketing Instead, IDC gives you the ability to not just HOW but also WHO is engaging with your collateral, and provides viewer email information for follow-up. Essentially, every interaction becomes a sales lead with IDC.”

“The concept of IDC is invaluable,” says Wayne Wall, CEO of Flimp Media. “Combining rich , engaging experiences with real time, actionable viewer analytics is the holy grail for direct marketers. And with Flimp, not only is that technology available, but it’s affordable and easy to use.”

The Rich Media Direct Marketing white paper is available for download on the Flimp website, www.flimp.net.
