15 January 2018, San Diego, CA. Telebehavioral Health Institute (TBHI) is pleased to announce its strategic partnership with the Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies (CGI) to focus on online graduate and professional education in integrated behavioral health care. By combining to fill the educational gaps for innovative and entrepreneurial healthcare professionals with professional training from TBHI, CGI is bringing the best of all worlds to address critical needs of behavioral health providers. By encouraging their students to obtain professional training through TBHI, CGI is doing its part to support integrated care and to advance the the science, knowledge and adoption of integrated care policy and practice for all health care across distance.

Dr. Cara English, CEO at CGI said, "For families living in remote and rural communities, for those whose health status prevents leaving the home for care, and for those who do not have reliable transportation, accessing high quality health care, particularly including mental and behavioral health care, is a real challenge. Behavioral Health Providers have an opportunity to expand patient-and family-centered care by leading telebehavioral health integration efforts to overcome health equity challenges, including the tyranny of distance. We recognize TBHI as the world's leader in risk management training for telebehavioral health and have partnered because we want all our students to be aware of and compliant with legal, ethical and clinical requirements when shifting their work environment from an in-person setting to a virtual office."

Dr. Marlene Maheu, the founder of TBHI and a pioneer in the field of telebehavioral health, said, "We are honored to be partnering with an Institute as distinguished and successful as the Cummings Institute." Dr. Maheu added, "Dr. Nick Cummings has been the leading visionary and set the bar for psychology during the last 60 years.
