Mountain View, CA- May 8th, 2006- Inventop, a leader in Location-based services and Consumers Mobile solutions, today announced the release of BUZZeeBee 2.0 beta, previously ProximityMail, now compatible with WiFi and Ethernet technologies.

BUZZeeBee 2.0 is the first community messaging technology, creating on the fly the first Mobile mesh Networks Infrastructure using consumer’s wireless devices, to allow spontaneous exchange communication capability between Bluetooth/WiFi devices from people and places of proximity.

How does it work?

Using a wireless device, BUZZeeBee application is like a mobile chat room or newsgroup that allows anonymous, public or private communications in the proximity. It enables consumers to create groups, subscribe (or not) to those of interest, without knowing others’ phone number or email address and therefore facilitates community building and customers’ relationship building wherever groups of people are gathered.
It incorporates Inventop’s Patent-pending BluePing Networks™ technology, which enables hassle-free peer-to-peer networking, expand WiFi effective range, create instantaneous “random area networks”, and powerful communications capabilities for Laptops, PDA’s and very soon Smart phones.
Unlike other point-to-point networking or messaging products, such as SMS, IM, or email, BUZZeeBee Networks™ allows users to communicate anonymously to groups of users, without knowing a specific user's PDA id, phone number, email address, MAC address or IP address. BUZZeeBee does not require users to pay for WiFi access when using BUZZeeBee.

Today, BUZZeeBee 2.0 beta is compatible with Desktop/Laptop Windows 2000 and XP Wi-Fi or TCP-IP, and soon with PocketPCs devices (Windows Mobile 2002, 2003 and 2005) WiFi built-in (such as the HP Ipaq 4155 and 4355, Toshiba e-750 and MDA IV Pocket PC from T-mobile, Unitech PA950, ASUS PDA MYPAL A716) or using an external WiFi Compaq Flash card (i.e. Socket Communications, SanDisk)

This new BUZZeeBee 2.0 beta version is free to download and use. Premium services will be offer to consumers while location owners will be offered a business version with special retail features for a monthly fee.

Inventop is currently working with major WiFi hotspot providers to distribute and promote BUZZeeBee in their location. WiFi hotspots will be able to use BUZZeeBee as an advertising and marketing tool and as a solution to attract People wanting to gather for networking and interaction purposes, and receive relevant information from Internet service providers.
